This year we are working with the other military posts here in Paradise to enjoin Veterans here in the Paradise/Magalia and Stirling City to make our facility the envy of Butte County.  We are working with the County Building Manager to obtain materials to better the interior so veterans can utilize the hall for personal parties, just come and visit with other veterans.  To this end we have so far been able to obtain some glass show cases for objects to be put on display for not only you veterans but the public that come and have parties and local sales.

Last December, our 3 Posts (AMER LEG, VFW, DAV, CALVET) were able to get the local vendors and citizens to donate a huge amount of money and a multitude of gifts for the children on the ridge for Christmas.  This was an outstanding function with the help of the American Legion Baseball team members, Lion Club members and others the volunteered to help make Christmas enjoyable for everyone.

This year we are going to continue to “better” the hall for EVERYONE to be proud of and enjoy.  We replaced the sound system so the three sixty inch TVs can be watched on a multitude of different channels, we have a combination VHS/DVD/CD player and almost 100 movies that were donated for the veterans.  We have in planning stage to install a handicap entry way directly into the main front door.

The American Legion hopes that these improvements will entice more veterans to come and use the hall.  All veterans and their families are invited.

For American Legion Post 259 meets first Wednesday evening at 7 PM.  Please come and enjoy the comradery and stories.
